The yes no quality of dreams

Thin exhibition at the ICA of a selection of paintings by the poet and painter David Robilliard.

These large rather bare pictures tended to include a rather simple figures and a line of his poetry. I gather they all related to life in 19080s queer London.

I quite liked “A roomful of hanging faces” a white square of faces which reminded me of a party. However on the whole the works left me cold and I felt it was noticeable that he signature was sometimes the most noticeable thing on the canvas which gave rather a sense of ego.
