The new ambidextrous universe

Interesting exhibition at ICA of new work by the American artist Tauba Auerbach.

The show was two types of sculpture. One was interwoven brightly coloured strips which you couldn’t help but look at for ages to try to work out how to untangle the two strips. They reminded me of making chains of paper clips. The other sculptures were slabs of wood cut into narrow strips and put back together in a slightly strange order or not quite level to give a distorted view of the grain of the wood.

I really liked these sculptures and found them oddly relaxing but I’m afraid I didn’t really understand the one photo in the show.
