Nice exhibition at the Menier Gallery of photographs by Pirasteh Gourang. There were some lovely landscapes and I liked some pictures of the patterns made by the retreating sea on the sand. I didn’t really need the strange titles and poem descriptions as the pictures could stand on their own without explanation. I would have preferred to know where the pictures had been taken. I liked some which were two images framed together horizontally such as one of a gate on the bottom and trees on the top. An interesting way of breaking up an image. Closed on 17 September 2016

Beautiful exhibition at the Menier Gallery of work by Otto Farkas. There were great portraits against real backgrounds but broken up by painted perforations. I loved two small canvases just of painted, 3D effect perforations. Beautiful pictures, well executed and a bit quirky. Closed on 17 September 2016
