Tintin: Herge’s masterpiece

Disappointing exhibition at Somerset House looking at the Tintin books.

I say disappointing because although it was visually stunning there was very little original material in it. I loved the Tintin frieze in the rooms and the models such as the one of Tintin’s flat. There were drawings round the walls but when you looked closely the labels said they were facsimiles.

Over each fireplace there were displays telling you more about Herge, the author, which were interesting but again was all facsimile images and documents.

So a good one to take the kids to a reminisce but not a comprehensive look at the books and images.

Closes 31 January 2016.
