Arnaldo Pomodoro
Interesting exhibition at Tornabuoni Art of work by sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro from across
his career.
The works were
all in a very shiny bright bronze giving them a 1970s feel. They were often of
a definite shape but with shapes escaping from them. I liked the split sphere
giving an earthquake life effect. I also liked the large relief in the window
which reminded me of Ghiberti’s “Gates of Paradise” on the Baptistery in Florence
even though they were abstract in design.
